40 Year Old Love Story Inspires Journal Cover

Some forty years ago, on top of Lookout Mountain, TN, I met the sweetest girl at Covenant College.

Smitten, I was.
Wrote her a love note, I did.

Lacking every art skill, I somehow forced a pen to wander around the page and create this:

In 2019, four decades later, said girl dug this out of a scrap book.

"I'd love it if you made a cover like this," she said.

"As you wish," I replied.

Ruth and I hope you enjoy the new heart journal

I just received my journal. It is great. I picked the free cover because it reminded me of Psalm 1:3. I love that psalm. I am thinking of getting the mountains next, because it reminds me of the verse that tells, even the mountains will cry out.

Bujos can help you juggle both your academic requirements AND those pesky adulting things that we all need to do, like budgeting and changing our sheets. Bujos can increase productivity and decrease feelings of overwhelm for all of us -- but they're especially ideal for college students.

  2. What kind of paper is the perfect kind for you?
  3. Are pages that are blank, lined, dotted or gridded your best choice?
  4. What kind of binding works best for the kind of journaling you do?
  5. What kind of cover not only works well but speaks to you?
  6. What's the best size blank notebook to buy?

If you take a little time to mull over your journal preferences beforehand, you'll be able to find a blank notebook that perfectly suits your needs.

Have you ever dreamed about being a better writer? It's actually surprisingly easy to improve your writing skills. All you need to do is pull out a blank notebook and start writing. If you practice “freewriting” (a stream-of-consciousness style, with no editing), you'll find your voice, expand your vocabulary, increase your fluency, consistently overcome writer's block, and gain confidence as a writer.
